For Us Alone, It is Impossible...With God, All Things are Possible

Updated: Feb 10, 2022

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” -Mark 10:27

How often do you catch yourself thinking of all the things that you want to accomplish in life? Is it often? For me it is. I've got a goal/dream list a mile long, and sometimes I get incredibly frustrated when the boxes aren't checked off in the time frame that I want them to be. The reasons for them not being completed are many, but I know that the main reason is because I'm bad about getting caught up in the focusing on "me" and not on Him.

It's something I'm not ashamed to admit, because in admitting it, I can push forward to committing to change. Changing my focus from me to Him. From my plan to His. I alone cannot achieve my goals, not even with the help of my husband, our family, or our friends. They can help me move forward, but the only true way to achieve any goal is to pursue it through prayer and seeking to find if it is truly a goal that lines up with God's plan for myself or for my family and I.

For myself, one of the most challenging parts about leaning fully on God and trusting in His plan, is when He specifically tells me to slow down, or to put aside one of the plans I have for myself. I tend to have a lot of irons in the fire, a lot of the time. They range from the typical wife/mom/farm duties, being a college student (again), working full-time, all the way to working on blogging and Etsy goals. I love each one of these "irons", but at times have to step back and breathe and see where He's leading me. It may be that He's leading me away from a particular post subject or product idea, in order to remind me that those aren't the most important things in my life. He is, and next to Him, my family is.

I hope that you can join me in remembering that with God, nothing is impossible. It's through Him that we have the power to do all things, we just have to focus on what is most important to Him. It's hard when what we want and plan is not what He has planned for us, but I promise, His plans are much greater and will bring more joy than anything any of us could ever imagine.
